For the ones who go out anyway

Training that knows the water.

Six in the morning. Mist on the river, nobody else awake, and a boat that has to be lifted anyway. Waypoint counts every stroke of it — and hands your club the times that prove it happened.

No card. Same link signs you in or up.

Winter miles in the dark. A course time that finally moves. The week you stopped guessing whether it was working.

Everything in the boat

Six ways Waypoint earns its place on your phone

01
Water

Record every paddle, phone in the boat or not

If it happened on the water, it counts.

Live cockpit
Speed, distance, GPS trail and interval beeps from the phone alone. No sensors needed.
On the water register
Tap out at the boathouse, tap back in when you land. The club board shows who is out, how long, and flags anyone overdue. Recording? You appear automatically, with a live position.
Any watch counts
Drop in a GPX from Garmin, Apple Watch or Strava and it gets the full pipeline: plan matching, course times, splits, replays.
Routes with the local knowledge
Community routes that include the bit that matters: where to get in. Distance from your home spot, weather on your water.
02
Race

The club's water, timed like a race course

Your club's stretch of river, remembered like a stadium.

Courses drawn on real water
Start and finish gate lines, portage entries and exits, laps, one way rules for out and back racing. Paddle over them and your time lands automatically, splits included.
Ghost racing
Replay any two efforts against each other on one clock: live gap, win margin, and the kilometre where the race was won.
Segments you carve yourself
Pick a stretch of any outing, name it, done. Your history is timed on it instantly and every future paddle over that water joins in.
Flyover replays
Watch any session back on the map with live speed, pace, per kilometre splits and portage carries picked out.
Time trials, run from your hand
Tap paddlers over the line on a phone on the bank. Mass or interval starts, a mis-tap fixed in a second, and results that publish themselves. Two phones share one clock, so a start line and a finish line agree.
The clubhouse screen
Prop a tablet on the results shelf: the race clock big enough to read across the room, finishers landing as they are tapped, gaps to the leader.
Segment of the Month
The coach features a stretch of water; everyone who paddles it is on the board. Anyone who would rather not be simply is not.
03
Coach

Your club's coaches, and the one you choose

Two different relationships. Waypoint keeps them that way.

At the club, a rota
Club coaching is whoever is on duty. So the coach who took the group writes one note about everyone who was out, it files itself to each paddler, and the next coach reads what you are working on before you reach the water. The knowledge belongs to the club, not to one person's phone.
Your own coach, your plan
Someone you chose and pay, working only with you: programmes by week and day with briefings, route packs and fuelling attached. The drift radar surfaces a quiet week before it becomes a quiet month, and debriefs, check ins and messages keep the loop human.
They see different things
Your club's private coaching notes never leave your club, and your own coach's work is not the club's business. If you want them joined up, one switch lets each see what the other writes for you, and you can turn it off again.
Start with a conversation
Browse coaches, read their free resources, send an enquiry. Paid plans are there when you are ready.
04
Strength

For paddlers who lift

Winter work that shows up in the boat.

A workout library that teaches
Every exercise carries cues, a how to, a demo video and a body map of the areas it works.
Sessions that explain themselves
When your plan says Bench pull, the session page shows the map, the cues and the demo. Nothing extra for your coach to do.

Learn

Technique on tap

Watch it, then go and do it.

Coaching collections
Ordered video playlists from your club: watch in sequence, pick up where you left off, ticks as you go.
Drips that arrive on time
Short reads and videos that unlock as your plan progresses, not all at once on day one.
06
Readiness

One honest number, and the story behind it

Progress you can see without squinting.

Paddler Score
Consistency, follow through, variety, time on water and racecraft in one rolling number. Showing up moves it. Racing fast is not required.
Streaks that forgive
Habits with frozen days built in. Life happens; the streak survives it.
A Sunday recap worth sharing
The week's story, told properly. Sleep stays private unless you choose to share it with your coach.

When it goes wrong

Cold hands. Wet screen. One tap.

Nobody plans to need this. It is built for the minute you do: everything big enough to hit with numb fingers, and nothing that needs typing.

999, the way that works

A target you cannot miss, and the reminder that holding the side and volume buttons calls for you: soaked, gloved, screen locked.

Where you are, in words

Your position as an Ordnance Survey grid reference, the format UK coastguard and mountain rescue navigate by, worked out on the phone itself with no signal needed.

The club knows

One tap lights the duty board red and alerts the people you nominated, with your last position attached. Stand it down just as easily.

And the quieter half of the same promise: tap out at the boathouse, tap back in when you land, so somebody always knows the water is empty.

The water remembers. Now you do too.

Every course you cross, every segment you carve, every ghost you chase down: your stretch of river keeps the score. The Tuesday in November nobody saw counts the same as the race in June, because that is where June came from.

Waypoint Performance

Founding period: free

The film room: everything in free, plus the analysis layer.

  • Flyover replays of every session
  • Ghost racing: any two efforts on one clock
  • Segments you carve yourself
  • The full Paddler Score breakdown
  • Premium coaching collections

Start free, Performance included

Free while Waypoint finds its feet; founding members will be looked after when pricing lands. Included with every coaching plan, always.

Three different people pay for three different things, and only one of them is you. A paddler uses Waypoint free, or adds Performance. A club takes on the timing, safety and coaching layer for everyone in it. A coach sells their own plans, and every coaching plan includes Performance for the paddler on it.

For clubs

The whiteboard, the stopwatch and the signing out book, retired

Everything a club currently keeps in a folder, a group chat and one person's head.

Who is on the water

The duty officer's live board: who is out, since when, expected back, overdue in red. Works whether the phone came along or stayed in the boathouse.

Courses, drawn once

Draw the club's lines once and every member's paddle over them is timed forever. Portages, laps and direction handled.

Tuesday night, timed properly

A volunteer with a phone can run the whole time trial and see nothing else about your members. Results reach the board, the paddlers and the club page on their own.

What the coaches know, kept

Session notes written once about everyone who was out, so the knowledge belongs to the club rather than to whoever happened to be on duty.

Built for safeguarding

Coaching content travels between coaches; contact details stay with club admins. It matters most for juniors, and it is enforced in the database, not by good intentions.

Off WhatsApp

Notes about identifiable people stop living on personal phones with no access control, no retention and no way to delete them.

How it starts

1

Join free

One link signs you in or up. No card, no trial clock.

2

Paddle

Record with the cockpit or import your watch's GPX. Either way it counts.

3

Watch it light up

Course times, replays, your score, the club board. When you want coaching, it is a message away.

For coaches

Independent, and not competing with the club

A club runs the water. Coaches bring the expertise, and they are not the same job: a club coach is on a rota, an independent coach is chosen and paid by the paddler. Waypoint runs both without either standing on the other.

A coach and a young paddler training together in a K2 on flat water at the end of the day.

Your own practice, your own page

A public page at waypointpaddle.co.uk with your positioning, your programmes and your free articles. Share the link; it works signed out.

One specialism or several

Paddling technique, strength and conditioning, racing, nutrition, mindset, juniors and adaptive. Paddlers filter the directory by exactly what they need.

Individuals, clubs, or both

Take paddlers one to one with a plan built around their life, supply a club with resources and sessions, or do both from the same account.

Free resources are the shop window

Publish an article and it reaches every member of the platform with your name on it. Coaches who feed the free layer rank first in the directory.

See you on the water.

Free for paddlers. Serious about clubs. Ready for coaching when you are.
